The Mt. Cameroon Race of Hope marathon takes place each year in the Southwest Province of Cameroon. For the contenders, this race signifies a chance for financial gain in a country that provides little opportunity. This year, some of the elite local competitors wore Newtons in the grueling sprint 10,000 feet up and back down the live volcano.
